The IT sphere is so vast that anyone can find a warm place there and reveal their potential. However, there is always a "but", in this case we are talking about the agony of choice, at the start. After all, without the necessary experience it is difficult to understand which profession will suit you best. Let's figure out how not to miss the mark with the choice of direction and become an IT star.

To begin with, it is worth saying that many people do not consider technical directions for themselves, because they are convinced that they are humanities. We suggest discarding these prejudices and paying attention to your individual qualities, because they can help you get an offer in the desired direction.
A popular direction, which is considered social media marketing service one of the most prestigious on the IT Olympus, this is where those who are just starting their journey dream of getting. Development is primarily about code. And code, as we know, must be written by hand, so someone mistakenly believes that he is not up to it.

A small spoiler for the humanities: code is also a language with its own syntactic features, do you get the idea?

Pavel Tishkevich, a teacher of the TMS Java Developer course, shared his observations about who will feel comfortable in this direction.

- I believe that anyone can become a good developer if they like coding. Development is not a direction for the chosen ones, where you need a rare mindset or superpowers. Yes, when you tinker with code for a long time and hard, the brain restructures itself a little, but the brain, like any part of the body, can be trained. Ultimately, everything comes down to experience - the more experience in solving certain problems you have, the easier it will be for you to do them. There are no secret secrets or successful paths, just hard work and persistence.

To feel comfortable in this direction, you must like it. If you like looking for solutions to problems, or creating pages on websites, or learning new things, most likely, you will find a direction in development for yourself.

Programming is a very general concept and it hides a huge number of directions, for example:

In our Telegram channel , we discussed why it is more important to have developed cognitive and linguistic abilities for mastering programming than an "A" in mathematics.

This area is considered the easiest to enter into IT. Therefore, many neglect the importance of testers in a team and believe that anyone can become such a specialist, but is this really true?

We asked Oleg Voropaev, a teacher of the QA course in Java at TMS, what, in his opinion, an ideal tester should be like.

- I think that for comfortable and productive work in this field, a person should be responsible, diligent and attentive, sometimes persistent and meticulous. Such qualities as communication skills and curiosity are also important.

As for what kind of mindset such a specialist should have, I cannot say for sure, since I know from personal experience that both techies and humanities students can master the profession equally effectively. I have seen how different people achieved results with due motivation and determination. I

The general concept of testing is the same, the main task of a specialist in this area is to find bugs. By the way, you can search for these bugs yourself (manual testing) or write tests in some programming language (automated testing).

Is manual testing closer? You should definitely pay attention to this direction:

Testing web and mobile applications

Want to become an Automation QA Engineer and run automated tests? Here is a list of languages to work with, all you have to do is choose yours:

This direction may be of interest to those who have never dreamed of writing code, but were interested in the visual content of websites, applications and services.

We asked Anton Zinkevich, a teacher at TMS for the UX/UI design course, what kind of people find it easier to learn and develop in UX/UI design.

— It seems to me that in this direction it is easier for those who do not rush to make decisions and try to get to the bottom of it. In design, there are a lot of little things that build the overall picture. Inquisitive students always try to learn these little things. People with an analytical mindset who know how to analyze a given task always find solutions easily. And thirdly, I think, for students who have developed logic in their thinking. It is impossible to know everything, but some answers can be thought up based on logic. Therefore, this also makes their life easier)Conclusion: to be a designer in IT, you don't necessarily have to be good at drawing and have an art education. Audience research, analytics, tracking trends - this is just a small list of the work that you will have to do.
